Nas: Life Is Good (Album Favorites)

The much anticipated 10th studio album from Nas, Life Is Good, has finally arrived. Since his last album in 2008 (Untitled), Nas has made huge improvements, as well as a movement to bring back the classic 90′s vibe in many of his songs. This is evident in tracks such as “The Don” and “Nasty”, which are both filled with cuts and breakbeats rather than a repeating chorus. A good majority of the album deals with personal issues Nas has faced within the past 4 years, including marital problems, people who doubted him, and his 2 children. These tracks, in my opinion, are some of the best on the album (“Bye Baby”, “Daughters”) because they deal with issues that many, if not all people, go through at some point in their lives. A very personal album from Nas, and no doubt one of his best to date. Escobar season has finally returned!

These are a few of my favorite tracks off of the album. Pick up a copy, you won’t regret it!
