Though a little different than what I usually listen to, I really wanted to share this song with you guys after hearing it. Created by the group, Hammock, “I Can Almost See You” consists of a simple piano melody, droning guitars, and barely discernible voices. It may sound boring, but this track is not about meaningful lyrics or a dope beat. Without these types of distractions, the listener can focus on the music itself, which is bursting at the seams with what I can only describe as raw emotion. Music like this reminds me of why we listen to music of any kind in the first place: to make us feel, to evoke something deep within ourselves that nothing else is able to reach. It is this quality that makes any kind of music so powerful, and so important to us.
If you are alive, you can make a connection with this track. Guaranteed.
